Cookie Policy
Last updated: October 11, 2026
This Cookie Policy explains how berkover.com ("the Site") uses cookies and similar browser technologies.
The Site is operated by Nati Berkover / Effective Product Management.
1. What Cookies Are
Cookies are small pieces of data stored on or accessed from your browser or device.
Similar technologies, such as local storage, may perform related functions. This Policy uses "cookies" as a convenient term for both cookies and comparable browser storage where appropriate.
2. Our Approach
The Site is designed to minimize tracking.
In its current form the Site does not operate an analytics-consent cookie category. It uses only:
- Strictly necessary technologies - required for security, essential functionality, and remembering that you have dismissed or acknowledged a privacy notice.
- Privacy-preserving analytics - which, as described below, do not use analytics cookies or persistent visitor identifiers and therefore do not require your consent.
Marketing or behavioral-advertising technologies are not used in V1.
3. Strictly Necessary Technologies
Strictly necessary cookies or comparable browser storage may be used for purposes such as:
- maintaining essential session and application state;
- security, request integrity, and anti-abuse controls;
- remembering that you have dismissed or acknowledged the Site's informational privacy notice;
- functionality you explicitly request.
These technologies are always active because the relevant Site functionality cannot reasonably operate without them.
The storage that records your dismissal or acknowledgement of the privacy notice is a functional preference — it remembers a choice so the notice is not shown again. It is not consent to analytics or to any optional tracking.
Any security/session cookies created by the implementation, and the specific functional preference storage used for the privacy notice, are documented in the live cookie inventory before launch where they are visible to users or materially relevant.
Newsletter action cookies
When you open a newsletter confirmation or unsubscribe link, the requested action uses a temporary, strictly necessary browser handoff:
| Cookie | Purpose | Maximum lifetime |
|---|---|---|
__Host-natios-newsletter-confirm | Keep the confirmation capability away from page URLs and scripts, and protect the explicit action | 15 minutes, or a shorter confirmation-token window |
__Host-natios-newsletter-unsubscribe | Protect the explicit manual unsubscribe action | 15 minutes, or a shorter unsubscribe-token window |
These host-only production cookies are Secure, HttpOnly and SameSite=Lax. They are used only for the requested action, not to track browsing or create a visitor profile. They are not analytics or marketing cookies. After the action completes, token material is replaced with a temporary result. A mail application's one-click unsubscribe does not require these cookies. Newsletter enrollment remains disabled until separately authorized activation; already-issued links can still be redeemed when collection is off.
4. Analytics
The Site uses privacy-preserving analytics to understand aggregate usage, such as:
- pages visited;
- approximate traffic source;
- device/browser category;
- broad geographic region;
- interaction with key Site features;
- aggregate conversion events.
Our current analytics implementation does not use analytics cookies or persistent browser identifiers:
- Plausible Analytics (aggregate traffic) does not use cookies or local storage and does not build a persistent or cross-site visitor identifier. It may process IP address and User-Agent information transiently to derive approximate location and a short-lived daily visitor count, but does not store the raw IP address or full User-Agent.
- The first-party product analytics layer (feature and content interactions) is designed to be sessionless and not to create a persistent visitor identifier or store visitor IP addresses.
Because this analytics implementation sets no analytics cookies and creates no persistent identifier, the Site does not require you to accept analytics cookies before analytics operate, and there is no analytics-consent cookie category to manage.
Analytics are not used in V1 for cross-site behavioral advertising, ad retargeting, selling personal data, or building advertising profiles across unrelated websites.
5. Marketing Cookies
Marketing/advertising cookies are not used in V1.
The Site does not plan to run Meta Pixel, LinkedIn Insight Tag, Google Ads remarketing, or similar behavioral-advertising technologies at launch.
If this changes:
- this Policy must be updated;
- a real consent mechanism with the appropriate categories must be introduced;
- those technologies must remain disabled until valid consent where required;
- the legal assessment must be reviewed.
6. The Privacy Notice
On your first visit, the Site displays an informational privacy notice. It tells you that the Site uses privacy-preserving analytics and points you to this Policy and the Privacy Policy.
The notice is informational: it is not an Accept/Reject analytics-consent gate. You can dismiss it, and the Site remembers that you have done so (a functional preference) so it is not shown again. The analytics described above operate regardless, because they require no consent under this posture.
If the Site ever introduces a technology that legally requires consent, a real consent mechanism — with the ability to accept or decline that technology — will be introduced before it is enabled.
7. Preference Duration and Re-prompting
The functional preference that records your dismissal of the privacy notice is normally remembered for a bounded period and is re-shown if the notice materially changes.
You may be shown the notice again if:
- the privacy notice or this Policy materially changes;
- an analytics or other provider changes in a way that affects this Policy; or
- it is otherwise appropriate to inform you again.
8. Browser Controls
Most browsers allow you to delete or block cookies and clear local storage.
Blocking all cookies or storage at browser level may interfere with some essential Site functionality. Because the Site's analytics do not rely on cookies or persistent identifiers, blocking cookies does not disable the privacy-preserving analytics described above.
9. Third-Party Services
Plausible Analytics processes limited information to provide aggregate analytics, as described in this Policy, the Privacy Policy, and Plausible's own documentation, without cookies or persistent visitor identifiers.
Other third-party services embedded or linked from the Site may operate under their own policies. A simple link to another website does not itself mean that website's cookies are placed by berkover.com.
10. Changes to This Policy
This Cookie Policy may be updated when technologies, vendors, or legal requirements change.
The revision date at the top indicates the latest published version.
Introducing any optional tracking technology that requires consent will trigger a corresponding consent mechanism and a Policy update.
